This forager’s hut takes inspiration from the surrounding wooded landscape to investigate materiality and methods of construction. The building’s characteristic feature is its timber facade which uses thin, semi-transparent wooden shingles to soften the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces while deepening one’s connection with nature. Through emphasizing visual connections and public circulation paths, the building strives to create a strong sense of community.
